Liz Urtecho for City Council

Project Overview

Liz Urtecho needed a website for her campaign to run for Hoboken City Council.  She wanted a simple website to introduce herself to the community, share her platform, and raise money.  After working with Liz on the successful launch of the Hoboken for Responsible Cannabis website, I was honored to work with her again on her campaign website.

Liz provided professional photography and a logo and we worked together to choose a color palette that included her favorite color red with a patriotic color theme.  The design is simple and professional to highlight Liz and her campaign.  

We also implemented Squarespace Email Campaigns so Liz can send out campaign communications that match the visual design of her website.

Liz wanted to make it as easy as possible to share her weekly newsletters on her website so we designed her “News” blog to link directly to her Squarespace Email Campaigns newsletters. This set-up means she does not have to copy/paste the content of her email newsletters to her website every week which saves her a lot of time.

I added a few special touches to the website with customizations including subtle hover effects on buttons and links, styling on the events page, and alternating the logo color on different pages.

When Liz launched her second campaign in 2025, we freshened up the website with new photos and text and she was able to quickly get her new campaign up and running with the simple, flexible design we set up for her first campaign two years earlier.

Liz is officially back on the campaign trail for for Hoboken City Council with a website that can continue to grow with her as her political career takes off!
